What is the Montessori Method?

This method was created by Maria Montessori. The primary goal of the Montessori program is to help each child reach full potential in all areas of life. Activities promote the development of social skills, emotional growth, and physical coordination as well as cognitive preparation.

My child cannot attend your full-time program. Is there a part-time program as well?

Montessori School of Aurora offers full and part-time school programs, open Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm.

Our curriculum gives your child a head start in math, science, language, culture, the arts, and problem-solving.

How is Montessori School of Aurora different from other schools?

The way we teach is quite different from other schools. One distinct aspect of our teaching method is that we let children learn at their own pace. We focus on individualized education. We do not compare children to each other or force standardized tests or expectations on them. We know that every child can develop an innate desire to learn and excel and let that desire to develop at its own rate. By working from an internal motivation rather than an external motivation, our children grow to enjoy learning.

Our specially trained Directresses guide children to develop problem-solving strategies and to learn respect for themselves, their environment, and others. We utilize both individual and group instruction. We work with a culturally diverse staff and students and understand how to work with every child, regardless of their learning style.
